Adventure 2 in 1 or How We Went to Badakhaz

Many have heard of the Badahoz gorge — it’s that mysterious gorge near Guimar, where, according to legend, a girl went into a time portal while going for pears

Better to see it once with your own eyes, I thought — especially since I had long wanted to explore this place in more detail.

And we explored:
— 9 hours of travel
— about 12-13 km in total (the navigators got lost countless times)
— 9 tunnels in the rock
— 12 descents with ropes.

To say that it was grand would be an understatement. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful places on the island.

It was a double adventure because we not only looked at the windows of Guimar but also descended from that height with ropes down the Badahoz gorge.

I will probably return here.
