Announcement about the hiking club
Guys, I see that you liked the format of weekend hikes — this makes us, the organizers, very happy.
It’s nice that our joint hikes have become a tradition, and we have formed a truly friendly community.
To make our hikes safer, we have registered a hiking club. Starting in 2025, only club members will be allowed to participate in hikes.
— The membership fee will be €50 per year per participant.
— Club members can be adults over 18 years old and teens aged 14 to 17 inclusive with parental consent.
— Children under 14 cannot be club members, but they can participate in hikes with a one-time insurance policy and accompanied by one of the parents.
The club will help us protect participants from potential risks during hikes — even a simple sprained ligament or dislocation on the trail can sometimes require the assistance of rescuers. You’ve probably seen news about rescues on Teide, where unprepared tourists had to pay for their own rescue.
From 2025, club members will have accident insurance for participants of hiking trips organized by the club.
This means that if you need help from rescuers on the trail, you won’t have to pay for it out of your pocket. The insurance will also cover possible medical expenses from injuries during hikes and rehabilitation.
All expenses and membership records will be kept in separate notebooks.
The collected sum will mainly be spent on insurance and hiking maps. The remaining amount will be spent based on a group vote.
Wishing everyone safe hikes!
