Guys, a question about pet insurance

Our cat is 12 years old and arrived on the island when he was already 10. Obviously, we have to visit the vet 1 to 3 times a year. Sometimes he eats dry grass and, sorry, can’t go to the bathroom, or he licks too much fur.

So, the vets are good—I can’t complain. But the last visit cost us 230€—blood test, nausea shots, and more.

I started inquiring about insurance: Mapfre and Adeslas only cover pets up to 9 years old.

Has anyone dealt with getting insurance for an older pet?

We love our cat and will treat him, but it would be better to figure out the insurance situation
