How to not let everything go to waste.

How to not let everything go to waste.

It’s impossible to be at peak performance all the time; part of life is experiencing downturns

Cycles are evident not only in sports but also in other areas—learning languages, sticking to a diet, blogging, learning new skills.

The right question here is not how to avoid these downturns (you can’t), but how to get back to a growth period with minimal losses.

I face setbacks regularly. Here’s what helps:

1. Understand and accept the fact of the setback. Don’t beat yourself up over it.

2. As soon as you find time and motivation, schedule that small step (a workout or a meal) without expecting super results and in a simplified manner.

3. Praise yourself for it! Acknowledge your effort, notice it.

4. Another small step…

Forget the principle of “the barn is burned, let the house burn too.” Intervene proactively, even with micro-efforts.

The right direction for applying effort makes a difference.
