Sunset in the Iphonche Caves

Sunset in the Iphonche Caves

Next Saturday, September 7th at 4:00 PM, I invite you to a small but very beautiful hike in Ifonche — to watch the sunset in a cave.

This place is a nature reserve, as it is home to the remnants of an ancient rock mass — the foundation of the island. Among these ancient rocks are Roque Imoque, Roque de los Brezos, and Abinque.

Our route takes us through a pine forest to the old estate of Ifonche and Benitez, then along the ridge we will descend to the saddle, seeing Barranco del Inferno from above. After that, we will cross to the other side of the ridge, where there are many caves, to catch the sunset in one of them.

To sign up for the hike, please do so in the chat. Please include your name. If you want to bring a friend, please include their name as well. If a child will be joining you, please provide their age.

The hike is for adults and children from 8 years old. Each participant must bring a headlamp.

This is a circular route. About 5 kilometers with an elevation change of 150 meters up and down.

It is important not to be afraid of heights and not to suffer from dizziness, as parts of the trail run along the edge of a deep gorge.

20 spots available.
Registration for the hike closes on September 5th at 12:00 PM.
