El Hierro Island Hiking Program
A small-group island program combining walking, volcanic landscapes, relic forest, local history and the coast.
An island program built from real field experience
This future public program is being developed from Julia's personal reconnaissance of El Hierro and the island program she already runs with her hiking community. It combines walking with volcanic landscapes, forest, island history and coastal time.
The field-tested program combines the Garoe area, relic forest, wind-shaped junipers, lava landscapes, cultural and historical stops, and coastal walking. Ocean swimming remains conditional on actual sea conditions.
El Hierro already has a real field base behind the program, allowing the public version to be developed from first-hand island knowledge rather than desk research alone.
